The new UBS Constitution, adopted via Referendum at the 2009 Spring Elections, means that the UBS now has a governance structure in line with the requirements of the Charities Act 2006 and the Charity Commission.
There is now a Trustees Board that will meet no less than 4 times per year (and is unlikely to meet more than 6 time) and is responsible for "overseeing the management and administration of the Union." It takes ultimate responsibility for such things as governance, the finances of the Union, strategy, charity law and other legal requirements, and the Union's reputation.
- The full-time 4 Student Officers;
- 3 directly elected Student Trustees;
- Between 1 and 3 appointed Independent Trustees;
