Active@Brunel kicks off properly next week, with the full programme of activities running, including; yoga, pole dancing, learn to lift and Pungra classes, alongside sport drop-in sessions and football leagues. You don’t need to have any experience, or any expensive kit or equipment, everything you need will be provided, just wear comfortable clothing, turn up and have fun!

Remember, active@brunel is free to attend for all Union Sport Members, you can attend as many active@brunel and sports club sessions as you wish, with nothing extra to pay, once you have your annual £40 Union Sport Membership which can be purchased here or by popping into reception.

One of the major concerns that students living on campus were talking to us about was the quality, availability and cost of laundry services. This has been a long term conversation with the University and we are really pleased that our pressure led to a major review and retendering of the laundry business. The results are that a new operator WashCo will be bringing in new machines and up to date technology at a significantly reduced cost to students for each wash.The new machines will start to appear in the next couple of weeks and it is expected that all laundry will be updated before Christmas. We are delighted to also announce that once all the machines have been upgraded, all residential students will receive tokens equating to 12 free washes and dries so you can all try out the new services. Students can also expect the cost of a wash and dry to drop by over £1 and have detergent included in the wash , helping everyone during this inflation crisis we find ourselves in. Full details of the upgrade schedule and when laundries will be out of action as works complete will be published as soon as we have the details.
